I haven’t been camping for many years due to a back injury, so when my partner suggested that we stay in a Tipi for a night as a romantic getaway I was unsure; however I wanted to embrace the romantic surprise, so went along….
The first thing to know is that this was nothing like my uncomfortable tent experiences of the past, the glamorous and luxurious interior of the Tipi was super comfortable with mattress and lovely bedding. Understated chic decor and attention to detail made our stay really special. I was delighted to be (and enjoyed a great nights sleep) in our magical Tipi.
The surroundings are natural and all set in a lovely meadow with nice walks and even a brewery next door. We picked some sloes on our walk and made some Sloe gin with them when we got home which we have called our Tipi gin!
The loos and washing facilities were all really good, but best of all was the camp fire where we sat and chatted and stargazed in the evening and enjoyed a drink and some barbecued food.
If you are looking for a low environmental impact getaway which has comfort, flair, style and back to nature all in one then this really is the place to book.
I stayed here for a night with friends and had a great experience. The tipis were very comfortable and the sight was stunning, I definitely felt transported. The hosts were really friendly and there was a chance to meet other glampers whilst cooking on the communal barbecue.
The site is situated just outside the beautiful town of Reepham which has many amenities and is in easy reach of Norwich or the coast. There’s also a great brewery and bar on the adjacent site. A great place to hire with friends for a magical event.
Space, comfort and a stunning view
The Tipis are something else when it comes to space and comfort, the white canvas lends both airiness and light as well as that stunning view through the criss crossed poles at the top, one can lie in bed and dreamaway….. The host has made sure that each Tipi is equipped with the top of the range bedding and gorgeous interior features; designed with a subtlety and lightness of touch which encapsulates the whole site.
What I enjoyed most about my stay at Indian Summer Tipis was how the world was left outside the gate. I would thoroughly recommend I.S.T if you really want to get away from it all, as far as I know there’s no WIFI signal and that’s more of an attraction than anything else.
